About the Foundation

The NATH Foundation came into being with the objective of supporting the underprivileged in our society. Promoted by Nath Pariwar (family), the Foundation began its activities in West Bengal in 2008. Today, the activities are limited to under developed countries with special focus on India and Africa. Our belief that every life has equal value is at the core of our work at the foundation. We follow 13 guiding principles, which help define our approach to our philanthropic work, and employ an outstanding leadership team to direct our strategies and grant making.

The foundation trustees also donate funds to charitable organizations that are purely of philanthropic and charitable in nature with non-sectarian, non-communal and non-political character and outlook. MS Swaminathan Research Foundation and Rotary International Foundation are two of the nonprofits who are benefiting from our integrated model. The Foundation primarily focuses by providing education scholarships and basic facilities for empowerment, benefiting a large number of individuals in particularly women and institutions focused in empowering women from underprivileged society.

It is known that Late Shri Broja Gopal Nath (grandson of Late Shri Ram Charan Nath, and son of Late Shri Tustalal Nath) was born in Kustia district of Bangladesh. Kushtia, Kushtia district or Kushtia Zilla is a district in the Khulna administrative division of western Bangladesh. Kushtia was once a part of the Nadia district (now in West Bengal) of undivided India. A municipality was established in Kushtia in 1869. Hamilton's Gazetteer has the mention of Kushtia (Kustee) town and of the fact that the local people called the town Kushtay (Kushte). Kushtia was home of many famous people, especially authors and poets. While, Late Shrimati Maya Nath (great granddaughter of Late Shri Ramdhan Nath) his wife belonged from Habibpur village in Nadia District, West Bengal, part of India.
